refrigerator

my 14-year-old took this photo.  i love the saying, but also that she cluttered all the magnets together.  that little magnet by the scarecrow is one i made with our students using deborah velasquez's how-to.  (thanks!)
now, to find simplicity?  reminds me of grandma celia, who at 89 or so said, "i'll sleep when i'm dead!"  i'll find simplicity when my children are grown and we don't have three different sports going every weekend and work and cleaning and friends and and and.  for the time being, i'll enjoy what is.  how's your busy-ness going?

  4. Such a cute post Noreen. I'm at the stage where my time is my own, but I remember what life was like when my kids were young. I loved it so, but love it now too. Different chapters my friend. Your fridge reminds me of my fabric board I just made and put up. I am slowly filling it with lovely things and will probably do a post about it at some point. Have a great weekend and PACE yourself, LOL!

  5. Currently working on getting rid of loads of clutter and you know the old "it gets worse before it gets better" saying that's where I am at. Will cling to your daughters quote as I make my way through.

  6. With a four year old and two year old it is busy all the time. Sometimes I get ahead of myself and think how nice it will be when both kids are going to school. Dreaming of getting a little 'me' time back. But, then I stop myself. I have to fully enjoy and embrace each stage because inevitably once I get to the next phase, I will miss this one. Once they get fully engrossed in school and friends and don't need me as much, I will miss the needing. So, "I'll sleep when I'm dead" and attain simplicity when "the children are grown". Sage advice, N.

  7. This is so lovely. What a moment captured. And I love it that your daughter took it. Could she have a bit of the camera bug? I need to keep that Einstein quote handy. He's well loved around here.
