heart half

sunday morning, left home at 6:30 a.m.  it was still dark.
we met fellow crazy people at the westin downtown,
and saw the brightening sky from the starting line.
columbia parkway has a wonderful view of the ohio river.  usually you see it from the window of your car.
we run 3 minutes and walk 1 minute.  very nice people hang out at the back in races.  the front, too, i've heard, but i've never been there.  over 13.1 miles, you have lots of time to chat and enjoy the day.
here's a walk break in the middle of the road on a bridge.  we've run over this bridge many times before, but always on the sidewalk!

the next race was starting as we headed home.
joy to you!

  1. I am so amazed and impressed! My running usually goes, run for thirty seconds, recuperate for a half an hour ;-) I only run when toddlers are headed for danger.Congratulations on your race! It's an awesome accomplishment!

  8. Not only do you run a half marathon you manage to beautifully photograph the whole thing, you over-achiever! Well done.

  9. @margie - i try! "just keep going", that's my motto.
@heather - i ran just like you when i had little ones. well, pushed a double stroller somewhat, but that didn't last very long. "look mom, a snake!" or "i want to get ouuuut!" now they're bigger, so i can run more.
@leah- running friends are wonderful! like regular friends, but we actually get time to visit during the hours we spend running.
@teri - it was very warm! don't be impressed - it's just one step in front of the other. and lots of fun.
@brooke - you're running enough - after your little ones.
@heather - not my first half marathon. but each one is special. thanks for asking!
@janine - just phone pictures - but they capture the memories.
    joy to you!
