junie b.

junie b. was not my favorite storybook character when i had a young girl - too rude! - but she's got the right motto,    "meet me at the bookstore!" ("or library!" i would add.)
let's keep our kids reading this summer.
joy and happy reading!

  1. Yup, we have this penciled in to the summer agenda. We try to get to the library at least once a week. Thank goodness the kids love it because it's one of my favorite things to do.

  2. love that pink bus. what is it about kids and reading? there are so few kids who love to read, yet schools and parents are always trying to get them to do it and it's a constant struggle. i think it might be the sitting still and staying focused thing. a little down time with a good book is a goof thing for everyone! 3. One of my frustrations with Callum's school year was that he had so much work that there was little time for pleasure reading for him. In the past it's brought him great joy. However. They have a great middle school reading program over the summer where everyone- teachers, staff and students- are all reading from the same selection of books and will meet to do projects at the start of the year. The kids sign up via lottery, and he's excited about his picks. Made reading fun again! We're all going to read more this summer.
