little free library

walking from the parking lot into greenfield plant farm, there is a little box.
with planters attached on either side, it blends with its surroundings,
except for the books inside!

little free library?

from the website, the little free library's mission is:

-to promote literacy and the love of reading by building free book exchanges worldwide.

-to build a sense of community a we share skills, creativity, and wisdom across generations.

to build 2,510 libraries - as many as andrew carnegie - and keep going!

wow.  a simple and creative way to encourage reading!
i need to gather some books to bring and donate to the library.  then check out what they have, and find out who at the garden center is the reading fan.

you can find more information here.
beautiful literacy.

joy to you.

  1. I've heard about these but have never seen one in person. I'm jealous that you have one close by!

  3. I absolutely adore this idea. Wish we had them here. I have a ton of books I'd pop in there. It's a brilliant idea and a beautiful one too.
