rock and roll hall of fame - michael jackson

inducted into the rock and roll hall of fame in 2001, michael jackson
is celebrated here.
the performance clothes are interesting, but the
video of dick clark's american bandstand highlights is moving.
it has many, many performers, but michael is there with his brothers as a young boy.
here's his signature from the actual hall of fame.

musical memories.

joy to you.

rock and roll hall of fame - outside

perched on lake erie, the rock and roll hall of fame was designed by i.m. pei,
who has many other striking buildings including the u.s. national gallery of art's east building and the expansion of the louvre in paris.
it's 150,000 square feet, and the architect created it to echo the energy of rock and roll music.
i have consciously used an architectural vocabulary that is bold and new,
and i hope the building will become a dramatic landmark for the city of cleveland
and for fans of rock and roll around the world. - i.m. pei.
more interesting information here
the piano outside says,
"play me, i'm yours".

this man was playing, and it was a joy to hear him.

structural and human beauty.

joy to you!

9 miles

spider webs were covered with dew and
the morning fog was still around.

it was still shady when i started out, but
 not for long.

i took a detour to place where you put your canoe in the water.

looked cool and appealing.

9 miles and counting.
slowly.

cool fresh air to you.

quinoa patties with feta, zucchini, and corn

in summer, dinner is a joy.
i'm not teaching, so there's time to explore new recipes and cookbooks.
here's my first experience with quinoa, compliments of homemade summer.
it would take a food stylist or lauren to make the patties look appetizing, but
they taste delicious.

you take one cup of cooked quinoa, and mix it with two eggs, some zucchini, the kernels of one corn cob, garlic, onion, parsley, feta, and chives.  add salt and hot or other pepper.   bread crumbs.  make patties.

fry gently in oil.
i served mine with vanilla, cucumber, and mint yogurt.

you can find another recipe here.

this is a health food?

edible beauty.
joy to you!

what you do at lakeside

at lakeside you ride a bike or walk to the lake.
if it's nice, you can relax with your young child at the baby pool or water play area, or with your older children at the beach on lake erie.
you can also..
 find waldo wherever you go.
playing putt-putt golf is fun, and you get to go through miniature "gates" and the auditorium whose full-sized version is here.

did i mention they have a bookstore?
the gardens are lovely, and worth a walk just to see.
you can go to the historical center.
the note on this photo from 1921 says,
"what are our children thinking?"
you can stay at the lakeside hotel, rent a house, or stay at a bed and breakfast.
we like the keystone guest house.

beautiful recreation.
joy to you!
