perched on lake erie, the rock and roll hall of fame was designed by i.m. pei,
who has many other striking buildings including the u.s. national gallery of art's east building and the expansion of the louvre in paris.
it's 150,000 square feet, and the architect created it to echo the energy of rock and roll music.
i have consciously used an architectural vocabulary that is bold and new,
and i hope the building will become a dramatic landmark for the city of cleveland
and for fans of rock and roll around the world. - i.m. pei.

the piano outside says,
"play me, i'm yours".
this man was playing, and it was a joy to hear him.
structural and human beauty.
joy to you!
I had no idea that Pei designed the RRHOF. How cool is that. Of course when you see your pictures, it's easy to tell. And the piano outside? Brilliant.
ReplyDeleteI agree the piano outside is brilliant! It engages people before they even step foot in the beautifully designed building.
